Check out Shotgun Rebellions Debuts Teaser for Train of Pain on “The Heavy Metal ICU”
“Shotgun Rebellion” bleeds southern tradition, it’s as simple as that. Formed in the southeast Oklahoma town of Ada, not far from the city’s infamous Corner Saloon and livery stable where four murderous outlaws were lynched in 1909… Rick Davis (vocals / guitar), Randy Cooper (lead guitar), Jon Parr (bass) and Johni Walker (drums) have come together to capture one of music’s most prized and forgotten ingredients… the Soul.
Creatively blending elements of classis southern rock icons such as “Lynrd Skynryd” and the “Allman Borthers”, country legends “Johnny Cash”, “Hank Williams Jr.”, and “David Alan Coe” with blues master “Robin Trower” and modern artists “Black Crowes” and “Zakk Wylde’s Black Label Society”…”Shotgun Rebellion combines these influences into a big ol’ kettle, brilliantly pulling out a sound that crosses many genres. With lyrical roots and ideals of outlaw country, the groove and feel of southern rock, peppered with the flavors and intensity of metal…”Shotgun Rebellion” delivers a music gumbo with a whiskey kick.
“SGR” has quickly elevated to become a top draw for many saloon and tavern’s themed bike nights, including national restaurant chain “Hooter’s”. “SGR” has also found success opening for many national touring acts “Ted Negent”, “Jackyl”, “Texas Hippie Coalition”, “Faster Pussycat”, “Forte”, “Warbeast”, “Lynch Mob”, and the “Rev Jones Band”.
Currently “Shotgun Rebellion” is busy finishing up their studio release and preparing for a nationwide summer tour, including an appearance at Rockapalooza. “SGR” delivers what fans are calling a highly entertaining arena styled show, and the “Oklahoma Gazette” has even called a “must see”. Or as one fan commented, “if a Shotgun Rebellion show isn’t on your bucket list, it needs to be !”
